  1. Player A finishes 25th/32nd in Main Event (6 points) and wins the 2nd Flight Event (10 points) = 16 total PVA points for tournament series, 6 Viking points for NWPA National rankings.
  1. • Player B finishes 17th/24th in Main Event (8 points) and finishes 3rd in the 2nd Flight Event (8 points) = 16 total PVA points for tournament series, 8 Viking points for NWPA National rankings.
  1. • Player C finishes 9th/12th in Main Event (18 points) = 18 total PVA points for tournament series, 12 Viking points for NWPA National rankings.
  1. • Player D finishes 4th in Main Event (27 points) = 27 total PVA points for tournament series, 18 Viking points for NWPA National rankings.
  1. • Player E finishes 13th/16th in Main Event (15 points) = 15 total PVA points for tournament series, 10 Viking points for NWPA National rankings.

The PVA point system will ensure proper points accumulation for top main event finishers, while still allowing players who do well in the second event to accumulate sufficient points to stay in the hunt for top year end prizes. PVA points will accumulate for all events, but only the best 4 events (if a player went to all 5 events) count towards year end prizes. If 6 PVA events are held, then only 5 events count for players making all 6. Players who do not compete in every PVA event will use all PVA points accumulated.

The NWPA will track Viking points as usual, PVA main event points, PVA second event points, and combined PVA event points. Year-end awards will be given to players in each of the point categories. If a player is tops in the combined and one or both of the individual PVA categories, he would only receive the higher award. The next player on the individual category list would receive the top prize for that category. This is consistent with PVA’s distribution of awards in its other programs like trapshooting. This ensures that no more than 1 top prize goes to a single individual.
